"The best life for every neighborhood."

It's About Impact

This election is pivotal for El Paso County. Now, more than ever, we need trusted leadership who understands the challenges facing our families and will put our neighborhoods first. That is why he is running for El Paso County Commissioner District 3.

A man of faith with strong conservative values, David is a husband and father of two, owner of the small business Angler’s Covey, outdoorsman and conservationist, and a defender of the constitution.

David will never waiver from his commitment to our community or in protecting the family values that make our community the best place to live in Colorado. As founder of Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance he has demonstrated his leadership to bring people together to take on challenges that face our community.

For over 33 years he has seen our region grow into one of the best places to live in the United States with its scenic beauty, active lifestyle, growing economy, family friendly attitudes, and low cost of living compared to other major cities. I am proud of and excited about our community. There is no place I would rather live, work, and play than our western neighborhoods in El Paso County.

Our once-secret place is getting discovered. While we have seen tremendous benefits with the growth we are experiencing, and new opportunities are appearing everywhere you look, there are some challenges that if not addressed will impact our city in a major way.

I want to see our momentum continue and I want to make sure every neighborhood benefits from our region’s success. To maintain a positive direction, we need to address concerns that come with that growth.

Priorities

Mental Health

The mental health of our community has been my top priority for Colorado Springs and now I want to make an impact at the county level. We are faced with a paradox of living in one of the best places in america and yet we are one of the leaders in suicides for over a decade now.

Addressing our mental health and suicide crisis at the community level is crucial. When a community neglects to address mental health issues within their neighborhoods, the consequences can be far-reaching and affect various aspects of individuals’ lives and the community as a whole.Let’s work together to take care of our friends and family in need.

Safe Neighborhoods

Public Safety and well-being of our community is vital. I committed to reducing crime, collaborating on effective fire mitigation measures and safe evacuation plans, and enforcing local laws to promote safety.

Together, we can create neighborhoods where every resident feels safe and secure. Safe neighborhoods have reduced crime, increased property values, and they foster a sense of community and belonging. Ultimately, safe neighborhoods promote well-being, enhance physical and mental health, and maintain a higher quality of life for residents.

Responsible Growth

Responsible growth means balancing economic development with preserving the natural beauty and resources of the area, while also ensuring the well-being of its residents and meeting their needs for housing, transportation, and other essential services.

We need to address both affordable and attainable housing while developing a smart growth strategy that contributes to the vitality of our community.

This can involve implementing sustainable building practices, protecting green spaces, promoting alternative modes of transportation, and engaging in responsible land use planning.
